Summit XIII is coming!
The Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts (CEDFA) invites you to attend the Texas Fine Arts Summit XIII to be held June 7-8, 2012. Summit XIII will focus on links between quality assessment in the fine arts and student success. The design of the Summit will provide opportunities for collaborative hands-on work time to put the ideas covered into practice and to emerge with a practical approach to TEKS-based arts instruction and assessment. The Summit is open to attendees on a first-come, first-served basis, and space is limited. Please register early. Discounted registration prices end May 15, 2012.
The Fine Arts Summit is the only major venue in Texas that brings together educators from each of the four fine arts content areas of art, dance, music, and theatre. The 2012 Summit is the final year of a four-year plan to provide Summit participants with professional development training on assessment strategies in each of the four fine arts content areas, one strand of the Fine Arts Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) per year:
- Perception – 2009
- Historical/Cultural Heritage – 2010
- Response/Evaluation – 2011
- Creative/Expression Performance – 2012
